Grow a greener future with Plantober

In the UK, we desperately need more native trees. And you can help make the difference. Join us this October for Plantober!

Plantober is a new campaign encouraging everyone to forage for native seeds, plant them in recyclable packaging and grow them in to little seedlings.

Trees are our planet’s lifeline.

They offer a sanctuary for countless species from fungi and lichens to birds and animals like badgers and foxes. Their towering branches and beautiful foliage, provide us with shade and add character to our landscapes. And their leaves filter the air we breath, trapping pollutants and releasing oxygen.

But we desperately need to plant more native trees here in the UK. You can help create a healthier, greener future by taking part in Plantober.

How to get involved with Plantober

Getting involved is so easy. All you need to do is go on a wonderful walk to find a native tree seeds. Then plant it in a recycled container and care for it until its big enough to transplant outdoors.

For Plantober, we’re collecting nut tree seeds as these are some of the easiest trees to grow. These include oak, beech, walnut, horse chestnut, sweet chestnut, and hazel.

We’d love to see your seed collecting and tree growing journey. So please share your tree’s journey with us on social media using the hashtag #plantober.
