Nurturing a greener Oxfordshire

We celebrated this year’s National Tree Week by giving away 3,000 free native saplings to over 1,000 households across Oxfordshire through the Garden Tree Giveaway!

This was the second year running for this initiative and we were so please to see so many people signing up to plant trees in their gardens.

From mountain ash and rowan to guelder rose, silver birch and crab apples, the Garden Tree Giveaway provided Oxfordshire residents with a diverse range of native trees to plant and nurture.

And we were deeply touched by the dedication of all the wonderful volunteers who braved the chilly weather to help distribute the tiny saplings.

For some, it was their first step into the art of tree planting. And for others, a rekindled passion. All in all, the Garden Tree Giveaway provided a unique opportunity for people of all ages to embrace the transformational power of trees.

As their first leaves unfurl, their branches stretch towards the sun and their roots anchor themselves firmly into the soil, we envision a future where these trees stand tall as a symbol of our collective commitment to protect and nurture our planet.

And with time and proper care, these trees will help foster a thriving ecosystem by providing shade, shelter and sustenance to countless creatures, all while enriching our soils with vital nutrients.

We can’t wait to giveaway more free trees next year and inspire even more people to embrace the power of trees. Together we can turn Oxfordshire into a haven of biodiversity and leave a green legacy that will endure for generations to come.
