Chairman - John NealePlease contact Miss Mary Wynne on 01985 212546 (or e-mail wynne932@btinternet.com) with any queries on our events or matters for the committee.
The Wiltshire Branch is always looking for suitable sites for planting schemes in the county and continues to support and monitor those already undertaken. The major scheme at the 33-acre Winsley Sports Centre at Bradford-on-Avon has continued with a second phase of planting in 2005-6, when local Beaver Scouts were called in to help. There are hopes to continue this work in 2006-7. In Pewsey, the Angela Yeates Memorial Ground was planted with some 1000 trees and hedgerow in March, with the help of ITF members as well as local people. Further trees grown and nurtured by one of our members are being planted at the Oakfrith Wood Millennium Copse at Urchfont.
We are encouraged by good reports of the plantations and tree nurseries which we are supporting in Uganda and Rwanda.
The Wiltshire Branch would be very willing to co-operate with public bodies which have planting schemes. Any planting to which the public has access could be eligible for a financial grant. For particulars, contact the Secretary.
Why not join us now, and enjoy meeting fellow members on our outings and plantings.
