Projects:
For several years our Branch
has supported forest
management schemes on the Philippine island of Leyte including the replanting and assisted
natural regeneration of exposed hillsides with native trees. This support
is needed more than ever now with UK and US aid money being directed away from
the area towards the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Iraq.

This picture shows the planting of mangrove wildings during low tide.
In the UK we continue with our links to schools and maintain a number of groups of trees planted in previous years that are used as a teaching aid. We are also proud of our links with Surrey Tree Wardens and warmly welcome them (and anyone else who may be interested) to our events.
We have been tree planting on or near to a number of roundabouts where we hope that the trees will make a future focal point. In particular, we are also reviving a theme used in the 1920's of planting poplars at strategic points on roadside verges and we are pleased that the Highways Agency are also including poplars in their new landscaping along trunk roads. Examples of our feature plantings can be seen at the Stoneleigh roundabout on the Kingston Road, Triggs Lane roundabout in Woking, the Sainsbury roundabout at Burpham and the Scilly Isles in Kingston.
Why not join us now.
