Many of our Branch plantings are in the grounds of educational establishments and these are normally done with the active participation of the students who receive a practical lesson in tree planting - they seen to enjoy the experience and so do we!

Local school, Whitehouse Primary has, thanks to the commitment of Arlette Bataille, been the site of successive tree planting since 1998. Usually one class of pupils take part in the planting with a follow-up talk in the classroom on the importance of trees. During the past season we also planted at Ballyclare Secondary, Strangford College and All Saints' Primary at Tattysallagh. We also revisited St Columba's, Clady, where we have been planting for many years.

The past season has been very busy with plantings at a sports ground - Youth Sport, Omagh, (300 trees) and at Crawfordsburn (450 trees), as well as along the A505 Omagh-Cookstown arterial road where we have planted 300 blackthorn and 150 mixed deciduous trees including oaks grown from locally-sourced acorns.
