Southwick Park, West Wiltshire - FULL

 

Southwick Park is located in West Wiltshire. The park is an ideal location of over 100 acres, with some excellent paths, good sculpture (see picture) and a 'friend of Southwick Park' group. Southwick Country Park is the largest new attraction in West Wiltshire. It is used free of charge by thousands of people each year. People are welcome to walk marked footpaths, picnic in one of the three picnic areas or just walk through the recently planted arboretum and woods. Development of the park has been financed partly by the Council and grants from the Forestry Authority. Students from Lackham and Trowbridge College and other voluntary groups have helped to plant the trees.

 

How To Get There

The Country Park is situated on the west side of Trowbridge between Trowbridge and Southwick off the A361. There is a small car park at the entrance to the park. It is also within walking distance of Trowbridge and Southwick, and bus route 234 (Trowbridge to Frome) stops close to the park.

The Future:

ITF Wiltshire branch have planted some 1000 trees in the park. Future works planned for Southwick Country Park include:

·         more formal footpaths creating a circular path

·         a children’s adventure play area

·         improved signage

·         showground
