Manor Road Community Woodland is owned and managed by Bath & North East Somerset Council with the help of the Friends of Manor Road Group.

Bath & North East Somerset Council is a key organisation in the Forest of Avon partnership, which is working to create a new landscape around Bristol and its surrounding towns over the next 40 years. Further information is available from the Forest Team at the Ashton Court address given above or on our web site www.forestofavon.org.

Manor Road is one of the best examples of community woodland in the Forest of Avon. Over 17 000 trees have been planted on the 21 acre site since 1993. The trees have been planted on former agricultural land and have grown to create diverse and important new woodland. Most of these trees and shrubs are native broadleaves and reflect the species found in local woodland. All trees are planted during the winter season and will be maintained annually to ensure they get a good start.

The site has spectacular views of the Cotswold Hills – particularly Kelston Round Hill. Heritage features within the site include traditional stone walls and the site is a haven for wildlife. Local people, for whom it has become an invaluable place to relax, exercise and enjoy the countryside, regularly use the site.
