East Williamston Community Woodland, Pembrokeshire
Site Description
The site at East Williamston is approximately 14 acres in all, comprising of several fields mostly set in a valley. On the Western side, the ground rises on a natural gradient with hedges around the whole area of the field, approximately 5 acres, with established trees set in the boundaries. A forest of deciduous native species will be planted here and it is within this area that the Family Tree Scheme site is located. All trees will be planted during the winter season, between November and March.
How to Get There
The site is approx 3-4 miles due East from Pembroke Dock and is just off the main trunk road of the A477.
By Bus and train: The nearest bus and train stations are Kilgetty (2 miles) and Tenby (6 miles). From either of these places you then have to take a taxi.
The Dedication Book is kept at the Community Hall.
Jubilee Park & Nature Trail
The aim of this project is to provide the local community with an outdoor open space, promoting a healthier life style by providing a safe amenity within the area in which the community (especially the children) and persons visiting can use for play and recreation. By creating areas of natural habitat it is hoped to encourage the diversification of species (flora and fauna) by sympathetic management increasing the awareness of the local environment.
